This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Scor Relate Us stores the names, relationship categories, preferred contact rhythm, avatar color choices, moments, dates, notes, reminder settings, and calculated relationship information you enter on your iPhone. This information is stored locally in the app's private storage. The app creates a random installation secret in this device's Keychain. When backup is enabled, it sends an encrypted copy of your local people, moments, and settings to our server. The server stores the encrypted copy, a SHA-256 hash of the installation secret, and update times. The server cannot read the encrypted relationship content. Network requests also expose technical data such as IP address, request path, time, and request identifiers to our hosting infrastructure and its logs. We do not create user accounts or collect an email address in the app.
How we use information
Local data powers your people list, moment log, relationship scores, insights, and optional local reminders. The installation secret authorizes access to your own server backup. The encrypted copy enables backup and restoration on a device that still has the same Keychain secret. Technical request data supports operation, security, and troubleshooting of the service.
Service providers and sharing
The backup service and PostgreSQL database run on Railway, which processes hosting, storage, and infrastructure logs for us. We do not include advertising, analytics, social sign-in, email delivery, or other third-party SDKs in the app. We do not sell relationship data. Network providers and Apple may process ordinary connection or notification delivery information as part of their services; reminders are scheduled locally on the device.
Data retention
Local records remain on the device until you delete them in the app or remove the app's data. The server keeps the latest encrypted backup for an installation until you delete that backup or the service is discontinued. We do not promise a fixed retention period for Railway infrastructure logs or backup copies because those periods depend on Railway's operating practices. A deleted database row may remain temporarily in infrastructure backups until those backups expire under Railway's policies.
Deleting your information
You can delete moments or people in the app; deleting a person also deletes their linked moments locally. Settings provides a Delete server backup action, which removes the installation's current backup row from the live database and pauses automatic backup until you choose Back up now. Deleting the app removes its local app data, but the Keychain secret may remain on the same device. If the secret is lost, we cannot identify or restore that server backup through an account. Permissions and your choices
The app requests notification permission only if you enable local reminders. You can decline or later withdraw permission in iPhone Settings; the rest of the app remains usable. The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library access.
Your privacy rights
You can view, edit, and delete your relationship records in the app, and remove the server backup in Settings. To ask about your data or make a privacy request, email fintan.kenward@icloud.com. We may need information sufficient to verify a request, but there is no account or email-based recovery of an installation secret.
Security
The app encrypts backup content on the iPhone with AES-256-GCM before upload using a key derived from its random Keychain secret. HTTPS protects traffic to the service. The server stores only a hash of that secret for authorization and an opaque encrypted backup. Access to a backup requires the installation secret; losing it prevents recovery. No technical system can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Scor Relate Us is designed for adults reflecting on personal relationships and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly provide a child-focused service or request children's personal details.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when the app or hosting practices change. The current version and effective date will appear on this public page. Material changes will be reflected here before or when they take effect. Questions can be sent to fintan.kenward@icloud.com.
